Giving every letter its due right.

التَّجْوِيدُ tajweed — literally means “to do well, to beautify.” In the Quranic sciences it is the discipline that ensures every letter is pronounced from its correct articulation point, with its proper characteristics, so the words of the revelation reach our tongues the way they reached the Prophet ﷺ.

For more than fourteen centuries this knowledge has been passed teacher to student, face to face, voice to voice. A recording cannot correct a mispronounced ض or a Madd held one beat too short. A teacher can.

Tibyan Ul Huda exists to make that classical chain of learning available to anyone with a phone and an hour to give — wherever you are in the world.

Idgham — the merging of two sounds.

One of the four rulings of Noon Sakinah. When the silent Noon meets one of six letters (ي ر م ل و ن) the two sounds melt into the next.

Sūrat al-Fātiḥah · ayah 7

صِرَاطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

“The path of those You have favoured…”

The rule

A tanween at the end of a word meets the letter م. The two are merged with a held nasal sound — ghunnah — for roughly two counts.

What you say

Not “ṣirāṭan alladhīna” — but “ṣirāṭalladhīna”, the n disappearing into the l with a soft nasal hum.

Why it matters

Without Idgham, the recitation becomes choppy and loses the continuous flow the Quran is meant to have. The meaning is the same — but the music is broken.

This is the kind of thing a recording cannot teach you. A teacher listens and corrects.

Years of Experience

From those who have walked this path.

I had been reciting wrong for thirty years and never knew. My teacher corrected me with such gentleness that I didn't feel embarrassed — only grateful.

Ayesha

Hyderabad

My daughter looks forward to her lessons. The teacher uses small games and she's already pronouncing ض correctly. Worth every rupee.

Rizwan

Dubai

I memorised the Quran as a child but had forgotten the rules. In four months we covered Makharij, Sifaat, and Madd — my Salah feels different now.
